Training as "sport" vs. training as "support"
"What do you want to be? A gym world champion? In the confines of the four walls, a roof, and temperature controlled environment inside a building? Or do you really want to be useful and have the ability to go anywhere, anytime, and do anything...and survive...and excel...and truly be the best. Try new sports. Do new things. Truly scare yourself and learn about true human potential. Paraphrasing Arthur C. Clarke, finding the possible by doing the impossible."

What do you train for? Is training your sport or does the training you do support some other real world need? Consider the difference between those reasons for doing what you do and determine what side you fall on; consider the possiblity that your answer is both.
