ReplyDeleteThat was a tough workout. Fully expect this time to be beaten, but I am glad it is done!
Tough workout
Now I see why the workout was posted so early. Nice job man. This looks like a fun one. Can't hardly wait.
ReplyDeleteWhat no pushups?
ReplyDeleteMy arms still hurt from weds workout

Those freaking Clean Squats to Push Press were killers! They need a nickname like the 'Widowmakers' or something like that.
it's funny you say they should be named. Mountain Athlete calls them "Mutant Makers" when done from the hang position. So, I guess "Widow Maker" could be for when they're done from the ground.
ReplyDeleteReally impressive times so far guys.

Wow. What's in the water in Hutch?
Dunno. We are all three former college football players, so the barbell workouts are a little easier for us than the rest of the stuff. DeAngelo will be blowing me out of the water pretty soon when he gets in shape. He is a great athlete.
ReplyDeleteI think it's as simple as this:
ReplyDeleteThe harder you work and the more you spread the word; the bigger things get.
I started out in a drop of water, big enough for only myself.
Then a small puddle formed and there was room for a a few minnows.
Then I moved and found myself in a drop of water all over again, but kept in contact with my little fish friends from my old pond.
Not soon after that my drop of water turned into another puddle.
Then my new puddle grew to a small pond.
The fish in it grew in both size and number, the fish in my old puddle grew, and after then, unexpectadly, we all got to talking with a fish from another pond.
From that a new chain of waterways formed. The puddles merged with a fish from three or four different ponds to form an even larger pond.
All the fish got bigger, became faster swimmers, and flourished. And then, most recently, the fish in the ponds were introduced to stronger, faster fish. More knowledge was shared and with that a new level of achievement was seen. Now we are all fish of varying sizes, speeds, and abilities sharing the same lake.
The bottom line is that there will always be someone bigger, faster, or stronger than you. and that's a good thing. How else would we improve if there was no carrot to chase?
I'm looking for a quote from Gym Jones that would fit perfectly here but haven't found it yet. More later...
